Canyon Road Spring Gallery Walk Opens the 2026 Art Season
Santa Fe's art year officially begins tonight. The Canyon Road Spring Gallery Walk — the first major community event on the calendar for the city's half-mile art district — runs the evening of April 10 with more than 80 galleries staying open late, hosting artist receptions, unveiling new exhibits, and setting out wine for the crowds who walk the adobe-lined road between Paseo de Peralta and Acequia Madre.
The walk is the first of three seasonal gallery walks that anchor Canyon Road's calendar, and it functions as both a social reunion for locals and a first look at the season's new work for collectors. Many galleries debut exhibitions specifically for the walk, and artists whose studios open to the road will be on-site for conversation and signing.
If you're going: park near the lower end at Paseo de Peralta and walk uphill. The sun drops behind the Sangre de Cristo Mountains around 7 p.m., which is when the adobe walls start to glow. Bring a light jacket; the high-desert air cools fast after sunset.
